Description

Chicken manure is a nutrient-rich organic material, high in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK), making it a potent fertilizer and soil conditioner that improves soil structure, water retention, and aeration for healthier plant growth, but must be composted or aged before use to prevent burning plants and killing pathogens, as raw manure is too strong and can carry harmful bacteria. It’s often sold dried and pelleted, but proper composting (heating to kill pathogens) or aging (several months) is crucial for safe application in gardens, with specific timing needed for different crop types.
